Designing visually stunning and highly functional homes is our passion at Fraser McAlpine Design WA. With emphasis on sustainability and sound solar passive design principles, every home is designed as a response to your site and your individual requirements.

Fully resolving all aspects of each unique home design is paramount. This is reflected in the detailed documentation we provide and the level of client involvement we encourage throughout the building design process.

Fraser McAlpine Design WA currently undertake a limited number of projects per year. This ensures that the building design and documentation stages are not hurried, and allows us total focus and commitment on every project. The end result is delivery of quality plans and documentation and complete client satisfaction with the final product – your new home!

What We Do.

Single storey, multi-storey, rural or residential, renovation or extensions. We have over two decades experience in helping clients with clever design solutions, large scale or small.

We encourage our client’s involvement in the design process – it is after all YOUR home we are designing, and we offer our advice when needed on practical solutions.

As members of the Building Designers Association of Western Australia, we are also bound by a code of practice and ethics.

Our new house has been wonderfully easy to live in with the main living dining area the best of all. The rammed limestone walls provide such wonderful thermal mass - it is lovely to come into the kitchen on a cold morning and not have to light a fire or turn on air conditioning. Our bedroom wing also works well and on those really hot summer days it has such good cross-flow ventilation it doesn't take long to cool off.

Thank you for all your efforts and design excellence - our new home is such a pleasure to live in. Your ideas for the kitchen layout have really made this the "hub of the home", and the winter sun on the Living Room honed concrete floor really offers up the warmth just like you said it would! We couldn't be happier!

Fraser is very easy to get along with and listens carefully to your ideas, he has a knack for putting onto paper whatever it is that i describe verbally. His plans are well thought out, clearly presented and user friendly. The 3D modelling is the best I’ve seen and the section links makes changing between floor plans, sections and detailing a clean and simple process. Fraser's understanding of achievable on site details means that onsite compromises are not required and you can be assured that what is drawn will be delivered at handover.

We first chose Fraser to design a new home for us in 2013. He did such a great job that we chose him again to design another in 2017! Fraser has a sophisticated creative aesthetic combined with great flexibility. In consequence, he designed two houses that incorporated all the features we sought but also much more: he gave us beautiful houses that are a joy to live in. Fraser is very accessible, is a good listener and provided lots of feedback throughout the design process. We love both houses that Fraser designed for us and highly recommend him to anyone looking to build a new home in the south west.
